Introduction- Alan MacRae

Alan has a crofting background, with his family having been been resident in West Helmsdale since before clearances.

Alan has worked for the Northern Constabulary and Police Scotland; as an Accountant for H.M Forces and Accounts and Grazing clerk at Crofter’s Commission.

He is the current Chairman of Helmsdale Sports Hub; Former treasurer of Helmsdale Community Council; Former Chairman and head coach of Helmsdale Junior Shinty club; Former Director at Helmsdale and District Development Trust.

He has a strong interest in Shinty, and is involved in International Shinty as Manager of national U-21 team and sit on International Representative Committee. Other interests include drawing and painting, and history-especially local and Scottish.
